Philosophy, Foundations, & History of Chaplaincy
This online course introduces Adventist chaplaincy philosophical foundations. It qualifies as continuing education content. However, it does not meet the qualifying requirements for endorsement.
Community Chaplaincy
This online course focuses on specialized chaplaincy ministry in the community or public sector. Its three specific parts are 1. concepts relating to community chaplaincy; 2. understanding ministry within secular organizations, ecclesiastical endorsement, and special requirements, training, and skills; and 3. pastoral ministry related to chaplaincy.
Law Enforcement Chaplaincy: Ministry Across The Thin Blue Line
The primary role of the law enforcement chaplain is what he/she does for the agency, and the secondary role is what the chaplain does with the agency. This fourteen-module online course leads you through the rationale for law enforcement chaplaincy, how to relate to law enforcement agencies, qualification requirements, and how to get started as a law enforcement chaplain. You will learn theological foundations and discuss the importance of confidentiality. You will learn about crisis intervention and disaster responsibilities. You will learn about counseling, how to deal with death notifications, and specific responsibilities when an officer has died. Finally, you will discuss additional considerations specific to law enforcement chaplaincy.
