FUNCTIONS

 

The ACM Department of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is responsible for the primary functions listed below:  

  1. Leadership, direction and oversight
  2. Administration of the department, committees and chaplain associations
  3. Global strategic and contingency assessment and planning,
  4. Professional standards, policies and ethics
  5. Development of professional training and continuing education
  6. Ecclesiastical approval and endorsement
  7. Coordination of certifying boards and certification of programs
  8. Budgeting and resources management
  9. Chaplain integration and accountability with the Church and Adventist ministry
  10. Evangelistic outreach, discipling and pastoral care
  11. Operational support for church members in military and public service
  12. Advocacy and liaison with public professional organizations and military relations
