GOALS AND OBJECTIVES  

GOALS

  • Place Adventist clergy as chaplains in the public arena of all divisions
  • Prepare chaplains and the denomination for cultural and political-military changes
  • Achieve proportional balance for the various chaplaincies
  • Establish and implement an accredited graduate degree for chaplaincies in a seminary of each division to facilitate training of chaplains regionally
  • Establish and implement a certified Adventist Clinical Pastoral Education program in place of non-denominational programs
  • Obtain adequate resourcing to fulfill the ACM vision, mission and functional responsibilities
  • Hire adequate staff for ACM Departments to accomplish their mission

OBJECTIVES

  • Obtain approval for rewrites and updates of Working Policy books and ACM Department Manuals of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Conduct a joint training conference for all chaplains in conjunction with the opening of the 2010 General Conference session
  • Conduct world ACM Advisory following the 2010 General Conference session
  • Setup Adventist certified CPE training centers overseas in each division in collaboration with a NAD SDA medical center, overseas seminary and hospital
  • Either add essential staff to the expanding ACM Department, or end dual-hatting and separate NAD functions from the GC; set up a NAD ACM Department
  • Hire field representatives for Northeastern USA as approved and editor for ACM journals
  • Obtain adequate funding from the GC that represents its proportional share
