GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
GOALS
- Place Adventist clergy as chaplains in the public arena of all divisions
- Prepare chaplains and the denomination for cultural and political-military changes
- Achieve proportional balance for the various chaplaincies
- Establish and implement an accredited graduate degree for chaplaincies in a seminary of each division to facilitate training of chaplains regionally
- Establish and implement a certified Adventist Clinical Pastoral Education program in place of non-denominational programs
- Obtain adequate resourcing to fulfill the ACM vision, mission and functional responsibilities
- Hire adequate staff for ACM Departments to accomplish their mission
OBJECTIVES
- Obtain approval for rewrites and updates of Working Policy books and ACM Department Manuals of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct a joint training conference for all chaplains in conjunction with the opening of the 2010 General Conference session
- Conduct world ACM Advisory following the 2010 General Conference session
- Setup Adventist certified CPE training centers overseas in each division in collaboration with a NAD SDA medical center, overseas seminary and hospital
- Either add essential staff to the expanding ACM Department, or end dual-hatting and separate NAD functions from the GC; set up a NAD ACM Department
- Hire field representatives for Northeastern USA as approved and editor for ACM journals
- Obtain adequate funding from the GC that represents its proportional share
